A 3G-capable netbook from Verizon allows you to browse the Internet from anywhere within a Verizon 3G cellular network. You can do anything on the Internet that you would ordinarily be able to do from your home Internet connection, though the network speeds may be slightly slower than a home connection. This is useful if you find yourself somewhere without Internet access and want to check your e-mail, get some work done or just surf the Internet.

As of June, 2011, Verizon only offers one netbook model, the HP Mini 110-3098NR. The full retail price for this netbook is $499.99, but is discounted to $139.99 when purchased with a two-year mobile data contract, and another $100 is taken off if it is purchased online, for a total of $39.99. Monthly data costs vary depending on the amount of data you sign up for. A monthly data allowance of 1 GB costs $20, 3 GB is $35, 5 GB is $50 and 10 GB is $80 per month.

As of June, 2011, the HP Mini 110-3098NR is the only netbook available from Verizon. This may change as new models are manufactured. Many mobile communications companies, Verizon included, are switching focus to tablet computers, which have become more popular than netbook computers.
