Where Do I Register for Qwest?

by C.K. Adams, Demand Media

The company once known as Qwest combined with CenturyLink in 2011 to offer services across the United States for phones, Internet and cable television. The telecommunications company partners with DirecTV and Verizon to bring these services to residential and business customers. Qwest offers services only in certain areas, and then the options break down by what type of services are available at these locations. You can also find Qwest offered in major department chain stores and local utility companies as well as online.

Locating Services

Qwest (qwest.com) offers Internet, local phone, long distance, small business, DirecTV cable and Verizon Wireless. However, not every location offers these options to customers. The Store Locator feature of Qwest's website lets you filter out the stores by services, though the filters don't include a DirecTV option. For best results, once you find a store location, use the store's information to call ahead.

Online

Qwest advertises all of its services on the main page of the company website. However, certain areas receive less availability, so you first want to click the "Check Availability" link to see your coverage. If you click on "Internet" or "DirecTV," you go to the next page that lists all the services offered for that type of media and prices. Once you sign up for services, then you create a MyAccount profile on Quest's website that lets you access your account online. You need only a valid billing phone number and account to join.

In Store

You can sign up for Qwest in any Qwest physical store. Qwest operates through authorized sales agents, like local electric or phone companies, Wal-Mart and Best Buy. The store locator shows that most of Qwest's locations are in the Midwestern and Western United States with most locations in Idaho. A company becomes an authorized sales agent for Quest by signing up through the Direct Communications website.

By Phone

Qwest also sells its services over the phone by the toll free number at 800-475-7526. Customers interested in these services must live in an area serviced by Qwest. On Qwest's website, you can use the "Check Availability" link to see what services are in your area, though the customer service representative on the phone also has this information available.
