U-Verse Vs. Time Warner Cable

AT&T; U-Verse and Time Warner Cable offer a variety of services to customers including high-speed Internet, cable television and phone service, which can include both local and long distance. Although the two companies offer similar services, the differences lie within the pricing, cable television channel line-up and Internet speeds. Although most prices are standard in the areas in which the companies provide service, special pricing, promotions and offers may be available during certain seasons, depending upon your location.

Triple Play

Both Time Warner Cable and AT&T; U-Verse offer a "Triple Play" package, which includes telephone, cable and Internet service bundled into one package at a set price. As of the time of publication, AT&T; U-Verse's "Triple Play" packages start out at $99 for the first six months, with up to 80 channels, 250 local and long-distance telephone minutes, and Internet transfer speeds of 3 Mbps. Time Warner's "Triple Play" packages start at $99 per month for the first 12 months, and offers up to 220 television channels, unlimited local and long-distance telephone minutes and Internet transfer speeds of 10 Mbps. Television Services

Both AT&T; U-Verse and Time Warner Cable offer television services. AT&T; U-Verse's services consist of up to 400 regular channels, up to 250 high definition channels and 48 music channels. Both companies offer premium services such as premium channels, Video on Demand, additional receivers and DVR. AT&T; U-Verse has premium channels starting at $14 per month, DVR for $15 a month and additional receivers for $7 a month. Time Warner offers premium channels at $14.95 per month, DVR for $21.70 per month and additional receivers for $8.75 per month. Both companies run specials and promotions however, that may allow customers to have a free trial period of premium services.

Phone Service

Both companies offer home phone services, which includes local only, or both local and long distance. AT&T; U-Verse offers unlimited local and long-distance calling to the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, Guam and the U.S. Virgin Islands for $35 per month, and an additional line for $15 per month. Local calling plans vary by state. Time Warner Cable offers unlimited local and long distance called to the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, Guam and the U.S. Virgin Islands for $39.95 per month, and an additional line for $29.95 per month.
