Cablevision and Time Warner offer cable TV, phone and Internet service for residential and business customers. Time Warner's service coverage extends over much of the United States, while Cablevision's service area is limited to the New York/ New Jersey area and Colorado, Montana, Wyoming and Utah. Customers in an area covered by both companies can compare the services offered and pricing to determine the provider that offers the better value and service features for their needs.

Cable TV

Customers of either cable TV provider can take advantage of the free high-definition content provided. Choose an HD set-top box or HD DVR converter to access high-definition programming on your high-definition TV. Cablevision and Time Warner offer on-demand programming in HD and standard definition. Cablevision does not charge a premium for HD on-demand content. Both providers offer the ability to set parental settings to block content as well as on-screen guides for searching and adjusting the cable TV settings.

Internet

Time Warner and Cablevision offer high-speed Internet service for home and business customers. Cablevision adds free Internet security software to every Internet service package, while Time Warner includes the security suite through the Road Runner service package only. Customers can choose from a variety of Internet options. Various Internet connection speeds and additional email accounts are available through each provider as well as packages that include technical support coverage and online billing capabilities. Choose wireless Internet service through either provider and receive a wireless router to connect multiple computers and devices wirelessly in your home or business.

Home Phone

Cablevision Internet subscribers can choose Optimum Voice and receive home phone service with up to 18 calling features at no additional charge. The plan includes the ability to adjust your calling features and access visual voicemail through the Internet on your home PC. Time Warner customers can choose from a variety of calling plans. Each Time Warner calling plan contains a different calling feature package to allow customers to choose the service package that fits their needs and budget. Plan features include call forwarding and call waiting, as well as three-way calling and visual voicemail.

Bundles and Packages

Bundle your Cablevision or Time Warner services to save money. Cablevision's Ultimate Triple Play combines phone, cable TV and Internet service for a discounted rate. Time Warner offers various bundling options so customers can tailor their service package to meet their specific voice, Internet and cable TV needs. At the time of publication, Cablevision's Ultimate Triple Play starts at $99.80 per month for the first year. Prices for Time Warner's bundle packages are as low as $134.89 per month for 12 months. Both providers offer iPad applications through which you can search programming guides, watch live TV content and on-demand shows and movies. Each application requires the customer to be connected through the service provider's Internet router to receive content.
