How to Play XBox Live With Verizon Wireless Broadband

by Chang Lin, Demand Media

Xbox Live is a Microsoft online gaming network specifically designed for the Xbox and Xbox 360 consoles. To download add-ons, stream movies, download game demos and play online games, you will need a sufficient Internet connection. With the Verizon wireless broadband network, you can connect your Xbox console directly to modem and unlock the fast speeds that come along with the Xbox Live service.

Step 1

Connect your Xbox 360 console to your Verizon modem using an Ethernet cable. Attach one end of the Ethernet cable to the Ethernet port on the back of the Xbox 360 and the other end to an available port on your modem. If you are also using a router in addition to the modem, you can connect your console to the router instead of the modem.

Step 2

Turn on your Xbox 360 console and wait a moment for your Verizon modem to recognize the Xbox console and establish a working Internet connection. Once you see the green light flashing on the router or modem, a successful connection has been made.

Step 3

Scroll through the Xbox Dashboard until you locate the "Xbox Live" option. If you have an Xbox Live account, you can enter your username (email address) and password and click the "Sign In" button to begin playing Xbox games online. If you do not have an Xbox Live account, you can click on the "Join Xbox Live" option and follow the on-screen instructions to set up. You will be required to sign up for either a Silver account or Gold account. You will need to purchase an online Xbox Live subscription monthly or yearly to play Xbox games online.
