How to Use Verizon Wireless Internet on Dell Mini Computers

by Jaime Swanson, Demand Media

Verizon Wireless offers its customers five ways to connect to the Internet via its mobile broadband network. Verizon sells tablets and netbooks as well as mobile hot spot devices, which allow you to connect up to five devices to the Internet at the same time, and 4G modems. If you don't want to purchase an Internet device such as a tablet or netbook because you already own a Dell Mini computer, consider one of Verizon's other wireless options.

Step 1

Visit your local Verizon Wireless store or verizonwireless.com.

Step 2

Purchase either a mobile hot spot router or a USB modem at the Verizon store or online at verizonwireless.com. To purchase the hot spot or modem online, visit the Verizon site and hover your mouse over "Phones and Devices." Click "Shop" under "Mobile Hotspots" or "4G USB Modems." Click on the device you want, and then click "Add to Cart." Sign in to your account, or shop as a new customer. Add your chosen data plan to your cart, and select features and services and your desired accessories. Click "Continue to Checkout" to finalize your purchase.

Step 3

Turn on the mobile hot spot or plug in the USB modem to your Dell Mini computer. Wait for your computer to boot up.

Step 4

Follow on-screen instructions as your computer installs the modem or recognizes the mobile hot spot.

Step 5

Surf the Web when your computer has finished installing the Verizon Wireless device.
