Can I Get a Cell Phone With My Bundle on Time Warner?

by Melanie Jo Triebel, Demand Media

With the wide variety of companies offering a dazzling array of services in bundles, packages and other groupings, it is often overwhelming trying to find the services you need. Add to that the confusion of companies who briefly offer a service, then discontinue it, and consumers can find conflicting information about whether services are available. Time Warner Cable, like other providers, has changed the services it offers but has now refocused on its core areas of strength.

Cell Phone Service

Time Warner does not offer cell phone service. This includes both separate cell phone service and service as part of a bundle -- neither is offered by the company.

Time Warner Mobile

Time Warner does offer some mobile services that can be used by its customers. The company offers Time Warner Cable Mobile Internet, which allows customers to connect to the Internet from virtually anywhere using laptop cards and mobile hotspots. The service is available in 3G and 4G, depending on the customer's location.

Time Warner Bundles

Although cell phone service is not available, Time Warner does offer bundled services. The services available for bundling include digital cable (which can include, depending on the bundle chosen, a digital box, DVR, pay channels and on-demand service), high-speed Internet, wireless home networking, and digital home phone service.

"Pivot" Time Warner Service

In the past, Time Warner did offer cell phone service as part of its bundles. This lasted only a brief period, as Time Warner and other cable companies partnered with Sprint to provide customers who purchased other services with cell phone service, as well. This service was known as Pivot and began early in 2007 but was terminated early in 2008.
