How to Connect an HR21-200 DVR to a TV

by James Clark, Demand Media

The HR21-200 is a satellite receiver with a built-in digital video recorder (DVR) supplied by DirecTV to satellite television customers. The receiver transmits and records in high definition on the internal hard drive for display on an HDTV. Use a high definition media interface (HDMI) cable to connect the HR21-200 to a television. The HDMI cable sends HD picture and mutli-channel sound through one connection, making it both the best and fastest hook-up solution for your DirecTV DVR.

Step 1

Press the "Power" button on the front of the HR21-200 or use the remote control to turn off the component.

Step 2

Turn the plug on one end of the HDMI cable to match the outline of the port labeled "HDMI" on the bottom back panel of the HR21-200. Push the plug straight in.

Step 3

Connect the opposite end of the cable to any HDMI port on your television.
