The DVR Xpander can connect to DVR via a USB or eSATA cable, and add up to of storage space to your DVR. However, before you setup your DVR Xpander, take a second to review the basic of the device's installation process.
Step 1
Power down your DVR, and then unplug it. Connect your DVR Xpander to your DVR via the expander's USB or eSATA cable. The cable you use will depend on the type of data port your DVR includes.
Step 2
Plug the AC cable's connector into the port on the AC adapter. Plug the AC adapter's connector into the power port on the DVR Xpander, and then plug the AC cable into a power outlet.
Step 3
Power on your television and DVR, and then press the DVR Xpander's "Power" button, or flip on it's power switch.
Step 4
Select the onscreen "Yes" option, with your remote control's directional keypad, when prompted to format the DVR Xpander. Press the remote control's "OK" or "Enter" button to make your selection. After a short formatting period, your DVR Xpander will be available to store your media.
