Comcast supplies multiple types of remote controls, depending on the type of subscription package and equipment you have. The programming codes for the remotes are in the documentation that your installer left behind. If you have a new television that you want to control with the Comcast remote, and the code isn't in the documentation, you can view the updated list of codes. You can then enter the codes into the remote.
Step 1
Navigate to the Comcast "Are You Looking to Program Your Comcast Remote Control?" website area to lookup the remote control code for your piece of equipment. Locate then remote control that you use by comparing it to the likenesses in the images. Then select the "TV Brand" drop-down. For example, choose the "Comcast Universal Remote -- Platinum/Dark Silver" and choose the "Dynex" drop-down. The resulting display will indicate that the most likely code for this remote, and this television is "11463"
Step 2
Enter the code into the remote by turning on the device -- like the television -- and then pressing "TV" on the remote. Use "AUX" for other equipment. Press and hold "Setup" and the selected mode key will blink twice. Then release "Setup."
Step 3
Enter the five-digit code and the mode key will blink twice. Aim the remote at the television and the television will turn off.
