AT&T;'s U-verse is a digital TV, high-speed Internet and home telephone service that uses fiber-optic technology. Although AT&T; is one of the largest telecommunications companies in the United States, U-verse is available on a relatively limited basis. If you are located in one of the markets offering U-verse, getting the service started in your home is accomplished through your local AT&T; office.
Step 1
Visit the AT&T; U-verse website and locate the "Can I Get U-verse?" field box located on the right-hand side. Fill out the required information: address, city, state and zip code. Click "Check Availability" to see if U-verse is available where you live.
Step 2
Contact your local AT&T; office if you are in a U-verse market to express interest in a subscription and inquire about prices, both for individual services and for bundling the TV service with Internet and telephone. Schedule an appointment for installation after agreeing to the terms of the plan you choose.
Step 3
Take any steps to prepare your home for installation, such as ensuring all television, telephone and computer connections are accessible to the U-verse technician. The technician will set up and connect all necessary equipment and cables to activate your U-verse service at the time of installation.
Step 4
If you are not currently in an area served by U-verse, periodically visit the U-verse site and enter your address into the availability field box to see if your local market has been added. AT&T; has been expanding this service to more areas of the country.
