AT&T; offers several packages within its High-Speed and U-verse DSL Internet services. Each one of these plans allows email forwarding to another email address, even another att.net email address. Once enabled, you won't receive any messages to your original att.net address. Still, you'll find other AT&T; DSL features that will allow you to manage your email in different ways.
Accessing Email
All plans offered through AT&T; DSL Internet service include automatic email forwarding, address-change notification and up to 10 additional email accounts with unlimited storage. Thus, each member of your family can have an email account. You can access your email at over 17,000 complimentary Wi-Fi hot spots and any place in the United States with a dial-up connection. Moreover, you can check your email while using your home phone. Depending on the particular plan you choose, however, your upload and download speed will vary.
Email Forwarding With Outlook
If you're using a personal or laptop computer with Windows installed, you can set up POP3 and email forwarding with Microsoft Outlook as well by visiting att.net online. Log in to your mail account. Look for the "Options" link to the right hand side, and just follow the mail options to set email forwarding.
Forwarding Business Mail
Even if you have AT&T; Business Internet Mail, you can set your email to be sent to a different mailbox. You can access your mail with any Web browser, POP3 mail client, Outlook Express and Netscape Messenger. With an asymmetric DSL, you can have up to five attglobal.net mailboxes without additional charges. If you have a symmetric DSL connection, you'll be able to manage up to 10 attglobal.net mailboxes for free.
AT&T; DSL Email Safety
Regardless of your ATT DSL plan, your email and forwarding options are safe. AT&T; DSL provides an All-in-One Protection Suite software package that you can download for free. The suite comes with a firewall to guard you against hackers, anti-virus software to keep viruses from infecting your computer, SpamGuard to filter junk out of your email box, pop-up blocker that allows pop-up ads only from sites you select and parental controls to keep unwanted content from your kids.
