U-verse is the name of AT&T;'s fiber optic network. AT&T; offers a number of different services through this network, including digital television, high-speed Internet and digital telephone. Each service comes in tiered packages to match individual needs and budgets and AT&T; offers discounted pricing for customers who bundle more than one service.

U-verse Television

AT&T; provides digital TV service through U-verse. They offer the service in six English packages. U-basic offers local programming only, and a DVR is available for an additional fee. The U-family package includes a DVR and up to 80 channels. U100 comes with up to 150 channels, and a DVR costs extra, while U200 includes a DVR and up to 260 channels. U300 offers up to 340 channels and a DVR, while the top package, U450, has up to 410 channels, a DVR and HD service.

U-verse Telephone

AT&T; also offers digital voice service through their U-verse network. Phone calls are handled over their fiber optic network rather than through your phone line. You can keep your old phones and your old phone number when you sign up for this service, which is available in two plans. TheVoice 250 plan includes 250 minutes. A per-minute fee is charged on calls after those minutes are exceeded. The Voice Unlimited plan includes unlimited calling.

U-verse Internet

High-speed Internet service is also available through AT&T;'s U-verse. It comes in five plans that all include a wireless gateway for wireless home networking, as well as 10 email addresses and AT&T;'s Internet security suite. The U-verse Pro package provides downloads up to 3Mbps, Elite provides downloads up to 6Mbps, Max provides up to 12Mbps for downloads, Max Plus is 18Mbps and Max Turbo provides up to 24Mbps for downloads. Package prices go up as speed increases.

U-verse Bundles

If you plan on purchasing more than one U-verse service, AT&T; offers several bundles, including two double bundles -- home phone and Internet service and home phone and TV service. AT&T; also offers two triple packs. The first includes home phone, Internet and TV services while the second triple pack includes home phone, Internet and wireless services.
