Comcast's high-speed Internet, called XFINITY, allows customers to complete various functions, such as quickly downloading photos, music and videos, downloading HD quality movies and games and watching TV online. Internet service is available in different packages, varying by download speed and price. It is also possible to bundle Internet service with other Comcast services.

Performance Plan

Comcast's Performance package is the least-expensive Internet service plan the company offers. It provides download speeds as fast as 15 Mbps, and PowerBoost technology is included in this plan, which gives an extra surge of power when completing heavy-duty tasks online. Also included in this plan are Constant Guard service for protecting your computer and SmartZone Communication Center service in which customers can get as many as seven email accounts.

Blast! Plan

The Blast! package from Comcast has a higher monthly fee than the Performance package, but it also offers faster download speeds. Download speeds are as fast as 20 Mbps with this plan, meaning music, movies and videos will download faster with this plan. The other features included in the Performance plan, such as Constant Guard and SmartZone Communication Center are also provided to subscribers of the Blast! plan.

Bundle Plans

Comcast allows customers to bundle Internet service with other Comcast services such as home phone and television. Comcast refers to this as the Comcast Triple Play. By bundling services with a Triple Play plan, customers save money; it is more expensive to purchase each service separately. Customers can select from four Triple Play plans, increasing in price as the number of cable television channels increases. The download speed of the Internet service also increases with the more expensive Triple Play plans.

Mobile

Internet service is available to customers' mobile devices with XFINITY 2go from Comcast. This service consists of a device, either a Mobile Broadband device or a Mobile Hotspot, which plugs into a mobile phone, laptop or other mobile device. Once plugged in, customers can access the Internet while away from home. XFINITY 2go service works in most areas where cell phones have reception. Different plan options are available, ranging in speeds -- either 3G, 4G, or 3/4G.
