How do I Connect a Comcast DVR?

by David Ferris, Demand Media

Comcast is one of the nation's foremost providers of cable Internet and TV service. The company's fiber-optic network allows for rapid data transfer, which is conducive to high-bandwidth activities like streaming video, downloading music and watching HD television. Some subscribers also get a Comcast Digital Video Recorder with their service. The DVR may be difficult to install for first-time users or for the technologically challenged.

Step 1

Connect the coaxial cable from the wall to the back of the DVR.

Step 2

Connect the red, yellow and white audio/visual cables to the corresponding ports on the DVR and the TV.

Step 3

Plug in the DVR to the wall outlet and turn it on.

Step 4

Use the remote control that came with your Comcast DVR to operate the device.
