How to Connect to Verizon

by David Harris , Demand Media

Verizon offers two types of Internet connections for its clients: FiOS Internet, which is fiber optics, and high-speed DSL Internet. Its FiOS service is the top-rated Internet in the country, according to Verizon, offering fast upload speeds. FiOS customers receive their service through fiber optics. DSL service is also available at a much smaller price for the more budget conscious consumer. Each DSL customer will get a dedicated line so your speed doesn't slow down during heavy use hours.

Step 1

Log onto Verizon's website to see what kind of deals the company offers in your area.

Step 2

Click on "View Packages and Prices" under which Residential Service interests you. You can order Internet/Television/Phone bundles or simply order High Speed Internet.

Step 3

Look at the packages available and choose the one best for you. The fastest service will be the most expensive but Verizon has various tiers and options to meet different needs.

Step 4

Click on "Order Now" once you have selected. Fill in the prompt with your street address and zip code and click on "Continue." Wait for the site to check for availability and price.

Step 5

Click whether you are a new or existing Verizon customer, if you want a 1 year term or month to month and click that you agree to the company's terms. Hit "Continue." Provide your name and contact phone number and a Verizon representative will call you.

Step 6

Schedule a time for a tech to come to your house to help you set up service on Verizon and connect you to the Internet.
