Comcast provides a wireless modem to customers to facilitate the connection to the high-speed Internet service. As a Comcast high-speed Internet customer, you have the option to either install the Comcast wireless modem yourself or request the company sends out a technician to install the device. Once the wireless modem installation is complete, you connect your computer to the modem via the device's wireless network signal to access the Internet. Use the Windows operating system's wireless connection feature to connect your computer to the wireless network.
Step 1
Turn on your computer and log in to your Windows account.
Step 2
Click on the network icon in the notification area on the taskbar. The notification area is at the bottom right corner of the desktop. The network icon looks like a set of ascending steps or a small monitor.
Step 3
Click the name of the Comcast wireless network on the pop-up box.
Step 4
Click the "Connect" button. If prompted, enter the password for the Comcast network and click "OK." Your computer is now connected to the Internet through the Comcast wireless modem.
Step 5
Launch a Web browser and surf the Internet.
