Comcast cable allows users to restrict access to certain programming with a PIN lock. You can restrict access to adult and mature programs as well as mature program titles and pay-per-view programs by setting a PIN lock. The PIN is a four-digit code that must be entered before access to the restricted programming or programming options is allowed. To prevent children or restricted persons from resetting the PIN, Comcast limits reset options as well.

Step 1

Call Comcast customer service at 800-266-2278.

Step 2

Submit your account number and account password to the representative. If you don't know your account password, which is printed on your monthly statement, submit the last four digits of your Social Security number.

Step 3

Request to reset the PIN. Comcast will send a signal to your set-top box that removes the PIN.

Step 4

Turn on the TV and cable box. Press the "Info" button on the Comcast remote to access the "Program Information" screen.

Step 5

Press the "Lock" icon button on the remote, and then enter a new four-digit PIN. Press the "Lock" button again to lock in the PIN.
