The Sprint 660 ME-series modem transfers Internet data from your DSL service provider into a compatible format that your computer will recognize. The AT&T; DSL service uses a portion of your telephone line to send Internet service to your home or office. With AT&T; DSL, you can use the Sprint 660 modem to transmit a wired Internet connection with the help of an phone line and Ethernet cable.
Step 1
Connect one end of the phone line to the "LINE" port on the back of the Sprint 660 modem and the other end of the phone line to the wall jack, through which the AT&T; DSL signal will be transmitted to your modem. Plug the modem's power cord into an electrical outlet or power strip.
Step 2
Plug one end of the Ethernet cable into the "WAN" port on the modem and the other end of the cable into the Ethernet port on the back or front of your computer. If you are using a laptop, the Ethernet port may be on the side of your laptop.
Step 3
Power on the modem by flipping the power switch located on the back of the modem to "ON." Wait for the green lights next to the "SYS" and "PWR" label to appear. The "PWR" green light signals that the modem is receiving power, and the "SYS" green light indicates a DSL Internet connection with AT&T; has been successfully made.
