Comcast is a cable, phone and Internet provider based in Philadelphia, Pa. Today, the company boasts millions of household and corporate customers for its services. Customers can get service help online, by phone or in-person at Comcast locations.
Comcast Locations
Comcast maintains a network of community branches. The company has a store locator for current and prospective customers to find the nearest branch. Pull up the store locator page, and type in your street address, apartment number and ZIP code. The locator will list Comcast centers nearest to you, as well as the hours of operation. Or, if Comcast doesn't serve your area, a notification to that effect will appear instead of results. Metropolitan cities, such as Philadelphia or Washington, D.C., usually have one location, while the branches are spread throughout suburbs.
What You Can Do at a Comcast Location
Customers who need to replace faulty equipment, such as a digital cable box or remote, can trade in the items at Comcast locations. Customers who are upgrading equipment, or need additional, can do so at the service locations. You can also return equipment at locations if you're ending your service agreement. Additionally, customers can pay their bill directly at the service location rather than doing so online or mailing in the payment.
What to Bring
Customers who want service at a Comcast location must prove they are the account holder. Bring photo identification, as well as your account number. Bringing an old bill can help, as it has all of your account information on it.
What to Expect
Comcast service locations usually are set up similarly to a bank. There is a roped off line and representatives serve customers behind a glass window. Service centers have security measures because of the technical equipment stored there. Expect to be filmed on a security camera and, possibly, observed by a guard. There also are equipment boxes for exchanging or receiving items. You will have to put the item in the box and close your side of the door before the representative will open his or her side. Likewise, if you are receiving equipment, he or she will instruct you not to open your door until the other side is closed. Customers should also expect at least a minimal wait. Wait times usually increase in the early evenings or weekends, when people who work during the day often come in for service. Consider visiting the service center in the mid-morning or mid-afternoon on weekdays to avoid long lines.
